2022 Virtual Symposium

The San Diego Academy of Family Physicians is proud to offer our Family Medicine Update 2022, Virtual Edition. This program has been approved by AAFP for up to 20.25 CME Credits. Individuals have until July 11th, 2023 to complete viewing all lectures.

Once you register you will be sent a confirmation email and password to login. The program website contains all speaker lectures and slides for each topic. After you have completed watching the presentations click on the program evaluation tab, fill it out and hit submit. Your CME certification will be emailed to you.

Edwin Reithmayer and Malvin Williams Scholarship

SDAFP Board of Directors is proud to announce our 2023 Scholarship Award Winners

Edwin Reithmayer Award - Mallorie Nguyen, Presented to a student pursuing a Family Medicine Residency who exemplifies Excellence in Undergraduate Family Medicine.

Malvin Williams Award- Michael Fink, Presented to a second or third year student of color who is underrepresented in the medical field who exemplifies Excellence in Scholarship, Character and Dedication to the Profession of Medicine, with an Interest in Family Medicine

Lemon Grove/McKennett Award - Arienne Malekmadani, MD  The SDAFP Board of Directors is very excited to add an additional fund in 2022 to this Family Medicine resident from San Diego to further the development of her patient care project.

All three recipients will receive a $1000 check and will also be honored with a plaque at the SDAFP Installation of Officers scheduled for Friday, February 3rd. Our Lemon Grove/McKennett Award recipient will also share the findings of her community project at the annual Family Medicine Update taking place June 23rd-25th, 2023 at the Paradise Point Hotel in San Diego.
