Attention UCSD Medical Students and San Diego Family Medicine Residents! Applications are now open for the SDAFP Reithmayer and Williams Memorial Scholarships and the Dr. Marianne McKennett, MD/Lemon Grove Medical Group Residency Award. We are proud to support the next generation of family physicians through these three awards:

Edwin Reithmayer, M.D. Memorial Scholarship Award

Presented to a fourth-year medical student who is actively pursuing a Family Medicine residency and exemplifies "Excellence in Undergraduate Family Medicine."

Malvin Williams, M.D. Memorial Scholarship Award

Presented to a second- or third-year medical student of color who is underrepresented in medicine and exemplifies "Excellence in Scholarship, Character, and Dedication to the Profession of Medicine, with an interest in Family Medicine."

Dr. Marianne McKennett, MD/Lemon Grove Medical Group Residency Award

Presented to a current R2 or R3 resident in a Family Medicine residency program based in San Diego County.

Residency Award Criteria:

• Applicants must be a current R2 or R3 resident in a Family Medicine residency program based in San Diego County.

• If selected, the recipient must commit to using the awarded funds to further the development of their patient care project and present their research at the annual SDAFP Family Medicine Update.

All recipients will receive:

• A $1,000 award

• A memorial plaque

• Recognition at the 2027 SDAFP In-Person Installation of Officers (date TBD)
