Lemon Grove/McKennett Fund: Josue Reynaga, M.D.

Josue Reynaga, M.D. Dr. Reynaga is a chief resident at the Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista Family Medicine Residency Program. His interests include addiction medicine, LGBT+ health, and health equity. In partnership with Dr. Christian Perez, he is aiming to build a robust street medicine curriculum at the residency program level to help train the next generation of family medicine physicians.







Reithmayer Scholarship: Raneem Mokatrin, M.D.

Raneem Mokatrin, M.D. Raneem was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She double majored in Neuroscience and Gender Studies at UC Los Angeles, where she decided to combine passions for science and the humanities through the art of medicine. As a fourth-year medical student at UC San Diego, she is passionate about caring and advocating for underserved patients. She is thrilled to become a family physician and to continue pursuing interests in LGBTQIA+ health, social justice, and behavioral health during residency.
